LITTLE BECOMES MUCH
Main Idea: God can do a lot with your little.
Key Text: John 6:1–13
Day 1 – God Sees What Others Overlook
Read: John 6:1–9
A huge crowd is following Jesus, and in the midst of the chaos, a small boy with a small lunch catches His eye. Everyone else sees scarcity. Jesus sees potential.
Andrew almost dismisses the boy’s gift entirely:
“But what are they among so many?” (v. 9)
That’s the lie we often believe—what we have is too small to matter. But God has a track record of using the least likely people in the least impressive circumstances to do His greatest work.
Reflection:
-
What has God given you that you’ve dismissed as “not enough”?
-
Who in your life feels overlooked, and how can you encourage them this week?
Journal Prompt:
Write about a time when you felt unseen or overlooked. How did God show you you mattered?
Day 2 – Surrender Comes Before Multiplication
Read: John 6:10–11
Jesus takes the five loaves and two fish—not with skepticism, but with gratitude. Before it multiplied, it was surrendered. That boy handed over his whole lunch. He could’ve eaten it himself, but instead, he gave it to Jesus.
“Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed…”
Gratitude precedes miracles. And obedience always opens the door for overflow.
Reflection:
-
Is there something small you’re still holding onto?
-
What does “surrender” practically look like in your current season?
Journal Prompt:
Write a prayer of surrender today. Offer up one “small” thing to God—time, energy, a dream, or even a worry.
Day 3 – God Feeds Others Through Your Faith
Read: John 6:11–12
The miracle wasn’t just for the boy—it fed thousands.
Your obedience often blesses more than just you. When you let go of your “not enough,” it becomes more than enough for others, too.
It’s not just about your miracle; it’s about your multiplication.
Reflection:
-
Who in your life is waiting to eat from the table God’s setting through your obedience?
-
What story of your own “not enough” turning into overflow could encourage someone?
Journal Prompt:
Who has God used to “feed” you spiritually in a season of hunger? Write them a note or pray a blessing over them today.
Day 4 – Nothing Is Wasted in God’s Hands
Read: John 6:13
Jesus told the disciples to gather the leftovers—and there were 12 baskets.
Not only was the miracle more than enough, but nothing was wasted.
That includes your effort, your waiting, your tears, your surrender—God doesn’t waste a drop of it.
Romans 8:28 – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him…”
Reflection:
-
What have you labeled as wasted in your life?
-
What if that “leftover” season is what God’s going to multiply next?
Journal Prompt:
List 3 moments in your life that felt wasted—but now you see how God used them.
