Another Church
Aren’t there enough already?
In the Tampa Bay area are many churches, but they usually connect with people who are already Christians. New churches are better at reaching those who haven’t been to a church before or have been hurt by the church.
So one day, my wife and I were at a pizzeria in Georgia and our server opened up to us about how she used to go church when she was younger but stopped when she became an adult. She then went on to say how she would love to reconnect with God but wasn’t sure if there was a community that would accept her with tattoos and her past. To hear her say this broke our hearts. Especially mine because I had similar thoughts and someone who is now one of my best friends, helped me get back.
Now imagine this: a church that’s actually for the broken, rejected, and hurt. A community of prodigals with open arms and open hearts ready to welcome you home.
That’s why we’re starting LGCY – a place where the broken can become whole and be restored.
For the renewal of all things.
Think of a church in St. Pete where both saints and sinners are welcome. Where your wackadoo neighbor might get baptized in the gulf, where people with addictions find new beginnings, and your non-churchgoing neighbor discovers hope in Jesus.

New Churches Have An Advantage
They can include people on their team who might not be looked at for important roles in bigger, established churches.
Think about when Jesus picked his 12. He picked guys you and I most likely would not have picked.
Let’s take Peter for example, who was a fisherman. In other words someone with no religious training and he smelled. Lol.
Then there’s Matthew. A tax collector, working with the Romans, and giving himself a healthy kickback. Jesus chose all sorts of people, even those who seemed like strange choices.
When new churches start, God picks people who would most likely be overlooked in other churches and gives them important jobs to help share God’s message of hope, and love.

To Live A LGCY
God wants His KINGDOM filled with many different people. No one church can reach everyone. Some churches are great at helping the community, some are good at events, and others help people who don’t know about Jesus.
God’s Kingdom is big, and not all churches are good at everything or for everyone.
So, we need different churches for different people. Just like everyone is unique, God uses different churches to connect with different people.
